Abstract

1307723 Cylinder construction and cooling DAIMLER-BENZ AG 14 July 1970 [26 July 1969] 34133/70 Heading F1B In an integral cylinder block and head unit having cooling spaces 7, 13, a transverse wall 16 is included around the cylinders 4 at the upper ends thereof to prevent the development of superficial cracks at regions 15. Moreover the wall 16 separates the cooling spaces 7, 13 so that all coolant initially flows through space 7 and is thereafter transferred to the space 13. The unit is joined with the crank-case (not shown) at face 3.
