Abstract

131,080. Mooney, D. J. April 24, 1918. Framework. - A metal spar, longeron, &c. for aircraft is formed from channel members having parts stamped up from the webs to form vertical supports for the two flanges. Fig. 2 shows a channel member with a part c bent out from the web and riveted to the flanges f. The webs of two adjacent channel members may be united at intervals to form a girder by vertical channel-shaped members. Other lightening holes may be formed in the webs.
