Abstract
130,973. Kohler, C. Aug. 6, 1918, [Convention date]. Condenser systems.-A condensing plant for a locomotive comprises a surface condenser arranged in front, the circulating water being cooled by apparatus, through which a current of air passes, carried on the tender. The tender 6 is fitted with a reservoir 7 fed by a ball cock valve from a reservoir 18. The circulating water is fed from the reservoir 7 to the condenser 2 by a turbine-driven pump 10 through a pipe 11 and returned by a pipe 12 to a second pump 13 by which it is fed to a reservoir 15. The water trickles back to the reservoir 7 through a channel 21 through which an air current passes.
