Abstract
605,967. Lubricating. WAKEFIELD & CO., Ltd., C. C., and CLARK, R. G. E. Dec. 6, 1945, No. 33062. [Class 12 (iii)] A multiple sight-feed condensation type lubricator has a mono-bloc casting 14 for the sight feeds with each sight feed 12 directly visible and with arrangements for a steam jet injector action above each sight feed to convey the oil coming from each sight feed to the point of use, the oil being fed to the sight feed nipples 12 from a separate and distinct oil reservoir 23, located below the sight-feed block, by admitting to the bottom of such oil reservoir condensation water from a separate condenser chamber 20 located above the sight feed block and connected to a steam pipe 18. The flow of oil to the nipples is regulated by a valve 31 for each nipple and by a valve 27 controlling the flow of the condensed water. A shut-down valve 30 in the inlet oil manifold is common to all the nipples. The steam injector action on the oil leaving the nipples is provided by narrow conduits 17 through which passes steam coming from a steam manifold 19. Cleaning of a nipple orifice may be effected by opening an associated valve 33 to allow steam to blow through the sight feed space to the atmosphere. Specifications 9843/07, [Class 12], and 359,046 are referred to.
