Railway locomotives, steam; pipes, arrangement and disposition of. - The make-up feedpump or injector N of a locomotive is connected through a two-way valve M with the suction and delivery pipes G, H of the pump C supplying cooling water to the condenser A of the driving turbine D. The cooling water is taken back to the supply tank F through a cooler J. When the cooling-water pump is in operation, the feed pump draws water from the delivery pipe H, and when it is not in operation the two-way valve is so turned that the feed pump draws water from the supply pipe G.
