Abstract

1308674 Dispensing closures S M LIBIT and A W NEWBY 13 March 1970 12144/70 Heading B8T A two-part dispensing closure, one, at least, being of resilient material, comprises a skirt 15 and a top 14 having a recess 25 in which, when assembled, is situated a spout 11 comprising a nozzle portion 101 extending from a cylindrical portion 102. The spout may be symmetric, Fig. 3 (not shown), facilitating automatic dispenser assembly, or asymmetric. The portion 102 may have a member 108 at each end face which locates behind the lug 109 when the spout is rotated to its open position in which a bore 141 abuts a passage 152 allowing fluid to pass from the container. A raised lip 151 seals against the portion 102 around the bore 141. In addition, a ridge 231 engages the portion 102 as do shoulder portions of the recess 32. These three contact areas co-operate to produce an effective liquid seal.
