1412855 Container closures A COOPER 27 April 1973 [4 May 1972] 20144/73 Heading B8T A closure cap from the filling spout 2 of a vehicle fuel tank has bayonet lugs 22, 23 integral with, or fastened to prong members 26, 27 respectively so that if the cap is incorrectly applied, Fig. 10 (not shown), with only one of the bayonet lugs fully engaged, the prong member at the opposite part of the cap will engage against a side edge of the insertion notch 5 or 6 of the spout 2 and thereby prevent the cap from being rotated. A sealing disc 21 is provided on the cap. The preventive action may be carried out by the ends of a single fin (29), Fig. 13 (not shown), and the bayonet lugs (33) and prong members (37), Figs. 11-12 (not shown), may engage an external flange of the filling pipe.
