1299313 Stackable bins J E JOYCE 3 Feb 1970 [11 Feb 1969] 5004/70 Heading B8P To facilitate the stacking of bins a slot 26 at the rear of the bottom of one bin is engaged by a back member 24 extending upwardly from the rear wall of a lower bin. In one form the bins are locked together by resilient pins 42 engaging corresponding holes in the two bins. In another form a U-shaped connector 56 engages holes 46, 48 in the ends of adjacent bins. In this form a hinged lid 60 may have its hinge pin 58 pivoted in a hollow leg 52 of the connector 56. In a third form Fig. 2, the stacked bins are held together by a member 70 having a slot 72 that engages the top of member 24 and has extending legs 74 each carrying a tab 80 that engages slot 26<SP>1</SP>. The tabs may be removable (Fig. 4). A handle may be provided on the top of the member 70 or a handhole 34 is provided in the back member 24. The bins may alternatively be locked together in stacked formation by a pin (102, Fig. 5) on a lower bin entering a rightangled slot (100, Fig. 5) in an upper bin, or by a projection (104, Fig. 7) on the back member engaging a corresponding cavity (106, Fig. 7) in the slot 26 of an adjacent bin.
