Abstract
1298673 Collapsible crates JOHN DALE Ltd and J E MOSES 21 May 1970 [28 May 1969] 27104/69 Heading B8P In a collapsible crate of the type in which the side walls 10, 11 are hinged to the base (12 Figure 2) and can be outwardly folded to lie in the same plane as the base (12) pairs of adjacent walls 10 and 11 (see Fig. 4) are provided with a U-shaped member 17 and a rib 13a respectively which interengage when the crate is in the erect state. Provided at each corner of the crate is a latching device 18 which comprises a catch 21 having an inclined lower surface 20 an aperture 19 and an abutment shoulder (23, Fig. 5) formed in the wall 10 and a protruding member (24, Figs. 3 and 5) formed on the vertical edge (when erected) of the wall 11. When the crate is erected the protruding member 24 is retained, by the resiliency of the catch 21, below the abutment shoulder (23) the crate is made from plastics material and includes strengthening ribs 13. The crate is also stackable with similar crates.
