Class 44 [Also in Groups XVII and XXX] One pair of opposed side walls 14 (Fig. 1) of a box pallet is secured to the base 10 by a downward movement followed by an outward movement while the remaining pair of sides 15 is secured to the first pair by an inward and downward movement. In the construction illustrated posts 19 extending below the side walls 14 carry projections 20 (Fig. 2) adapted to take into holes 21 in the outer sides of trough-shaped feet 13. Headed screws 26 (Fig. 1) on each wall 15 take into slots 29 in U-section members 23 welded to the walls 14 so that the sides 15, which have yokes 31 embracing a part of the base 10, are secured to the side walls 14 by an inward movement followed by a downward movement. The forks 31 of the construction shown may be replaced by pins engaging sockets in the base and the assembled structure may be rendered more rigid by giving the plates 23 diverging sides so that the side walls 14 are forced apart as the side walls 15 are pushed between them.
