Abstract

1,257,532. Knock-down boxes; load-handling pallets. W. T. BUSS. 14 March, 1969, No. 13629/69. Headings B8H and B8P. A knock-down container comprises a base la and four sides, two of the sides 2 being hinged to the base, the other sides 3 being dropin sides respectively engaging the sides 2, the base being formed as a pallet to accept a forklift device, a lid 4 and means for locking the sides and lid together. The hinged sides are provided with channels 10 to accept the sides 3, the lid being provided with angles 17 and brackets 18, the latter being slotted at 19 to receive captive screws 20. The base is provided with skids 1c attached to blocks 5, the lid and the sides being provided with grooves and slots 22, 23, 24 to facilitate ventilation. When the container is collapsed the sides 3 are removed and placed between the skids and the lid placed over the skids and secured there by screws 21. In a modification, each side 2 comprises two parts hinged together, one of the two parts being also hinged to the base as before.
