A stackable and nestable skeleton crate comprises horizontal frames 1, 2 spacedly connected by components 3 forming vertical side walls and inclined in the plane of these walls so that the components 3 of the one crate can nest in the bays formed between the components 3 of another crate. Stacking lugs 3a and 3b are provided. In a modification, the upper and lower frames are connected by pairs of truncated V-shaped components secured to each other at their apices; two side walls are completely open and a tray may be fitted between the upper and lower frames. Specification 31888/58 is referred to.
