934,668. Stackable and nestable crates. DAIRY SUPPLY CO. Ltd. Oct. 6, 1959 [Oct. 6, 1958], No. 31888/58. Class 18. A skeleton crate comprises upper and lower rod frames 1, 2 provided near the bottom with out-turned stacking lugs 4, 5 and 6, 7 and the upper frame 1 being formed with out-turned loops 8, 9. so that one such crate will stack on the upper frame of a crate below when placed with the lugs 4, 5 out of register with the loops 8, 9 but can be stowed within the lower crate when placed with the lugs and loops in register. By placing the upper crate with its side lugs 4 and 5 in register with the loops 8 and 9 of the lower crate, and its end lugs 6, 7 below the frame 1 of the lower crate the lugs will pass therethrough to permit nesting, while by turning one crate through 180 degrees the crates can be stacked. Cross rods 13 may be formed across certain of the wall-forming V-shaped rods to limit the depth of nesting. The lugs are formed on an intermediate frame 3 close to the lower frame 2. The sides of the crate are vertical, the nesting being allowed by V-shaped rods 10 forming the side walls. Bars 13 near the apices of the V's limit the extent of nesting.
