Abstract
1294339 Making sheets; altering physical properties NIPPON KOKAN KK 12 Nov 1969 [14 Nov 1968] 55281/69 Headings B3A and B3V [Also in Division C7] Low carbon rimmed or capped steel having 0À03-0À25% Mn is cold-rolled with a reduction exceeding 30%, annealed, cold rolled with a reduction exceeding 50% and again annealed, both annealing steps being carried out at 630- 850‹ C., one in a decarburizing or decarburizing- denitriding atmosphere and the other in a reducing atmosphere. Alternatively 65-85% reduction is effected in a single cold reduction stage and is followed by annealing at 630- 850‹ C. in a decarburizing atmosphere. In either case the steel may be temper rolled after the final anneal. As exemplified the steel is hot rolled finishing at 840-870‹ C. and coiled at 530-580‹ C.
