Abstract
1435460 Heat-treating steel sheet NIPPON KOKAN KK 10 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 30470/74 Heading C7A Steel strip containing is hot rolled to finish above 800C followed by coiling at less than 700C and is then continuously and fully annealed by heating to 700-900C for 10 to 120 seconds, followed by quenching with water jets. The strip is finally re-heated to 150-400C for 2 to 300 seconds, the time and temperature lying within the area ABCDEFGHIJ of the drawing whereby the previously dissolved carbon is partially but not completely precipitated. Silicon and aluminium may be present in the steel up to 0.2% and 0.02% respectively.
