Abstract
1435237 Annealing steel strip NIPPON KOKAN KK 23 July 1974 [25 July 1973] 32577/74 Heading C7A Steel containing 0.04-0.12% C, 0.1-1.60% Mu, and 0.01-0.2% soluble Al is hot-rolled with a finishing temperature above 800‹C and coiled at less than 630‹C. After cold-rolling it is continuously annealed by heating to 700-800‹C at 200‹C/min, holding for 10-120 seconds and cooling by a jet stream of water after which it is re-heated to 150-400‹C and held for 2 to 300 seconds such that a part of the carbon is retained in solution. Preferably the re-heating time is 15-300 seconds at 150-180‹C, 4-300 seconds at 180-300‹C, or 2-200 seconds at 300-400‹C. The product is used particularly for car bodies.
