Abstract

1308167 Steel sheet NIPPON KOKAN KK 17 Dec 1970 [27 Dec 1969] 59855/70 Headings C7A and C7D Steel having less than 0À01%C and less than 0À5%Mn, together with good drawability, are obtained by subjecting molten steel to vacuum treatment while blowing through it an inert or decarburising gas, possibly from a porous brick in the base of the ladle. After casting, possibly continuously, the steel is hot rolled, cold rolled and annealed at over 650‹ C. The steel may contain less than 0À4%Mn in conjunction with soluble Al exceeding 0À02%, in which case it is coiled at over 630‹ C following hot rolling.
