Abstract
1352930 Steel alloys; decarburization and heat treatment NIPPON KOKAN KK 19 April 1971 [2 Feb 1970] 21744/71 Heading C7A and C7D A steel ingot comprising 0.03-0.06%C and 0.05 -0.10% O and which has been slabbed, hot rolled and pickled is converted to cold reduced steel having good press formability by the process of decarburizing annealing the steel at a temperature of less than 780C to decrease the C content to less than 0.01%; annealing the steel at a temperature of more than the recrystallization temperature to the As point of the steel and then temper rolling it. It is stated that the interrelation between the O content and the decarburization temperature is the most important factor of the invention.
