Abstract
1428901 Heat-treating silicon steel ALLEGHENY LUDLUM INDUSTRIES Inc 6 May 1974 [7 May 1973] 19803/74 Heading C7A Silicon steel containing in percentage by weight. is hot-rolled, cold-rolled at least once, decarburized and finally annealed to produce a cube-on-edge structure, the final cold rolling involving a reduction of at least 80% and being preceded by an anneal at 1400-2150F for 15 seconds to 2 hours with cooling from the maximum annealing temperature to a temperature in the range 750 - 1700 F at a rate not faster than that in still air, and cooling from that temperature down to 500F or below at a rate faster than that in still air, e,g. by liquid or a gaseous stream.
