1288123 Garment bands LILLA EDETS PAPPERSBRUKS AB 20 Jan 1970 [21 Jan 1969] 2773/70 Heading A3V [Also in Division B5] An elastic tension band, e.g. for use with disposable babies underwear, comprises an elastic strip 1 of natural or thermoplastic rubber formed by one or more parallel strands 2 and elements 3 connecting the strands and/or projecting laterally from them, the strip 1 being either fastened to two outer layers of plastics or fabric material 4, 5 at the projections or the layers 4,5 being joined together through openings in the strip 1 as shown in Fig. 2. Alternatively (as in Figs. 5-7 not shown) one side of the strip may bear transverse projections (15), (16) which are secured to one outer layer (17), the other side of the strip being secured directly to the garment. The strip and outer layer(s) are secured to one another when the strip is in a stretched condition, securement being effected by thermoadhesion or a pressure-sensitive bonding agent.
