[Also in Division E2] A pair of waist length stockings 10 has two hip portions 12, one for each, with a slit 14 on the inside, which are adapted to be connected together by a detachable coupling means such as 22. The hip portion 12 is knitted in a run-resistant structure which may have additional elastic threads worked into it and has a doubled elastic waist part 16 made of highly elastic rubber or synthetic plastics material and a reinforced garter 15 at the end of the slit. Extremities 18, 20 are fastened to each other by press fasteners 22 of plastics material, which may fit through enlarged stitches, two at the front and one at the back. The sides 14 of the slits may be joined by single snap fasteners, two at the front and one at the back, located by marking lines 62, 64, which hold the overlapping edges 14 between them or by tapes (66), Fig. 4 (not shown), made at least partly of thermoplastic material with snap fastener elements (72<SP>11</SP>, 72, 74) (Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) welded at the end which co-operate with other snap fastener parts which are either loose (74<SP>11</SP>), Fig. 6 (not shown), or (72<SP>1</SP>, 74<SP>1</SP>) borne on another tape (70<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 6.
