Abstract

1282802 Rolling mills MASCHINEN-UND WERKZEUGBAU GmbH 18 July 1969 [19 March 1969] 35600/71 Divided out of 1280033 Heading B3M An assembly for changing the work rolls 3 of a rolling mill comprises a carriage 5 having withdrawal sleeves 9 which co-operate with the necks of the rolls and which are hydraulically operated to clamp the necks. The carriage is movable on wheels 10 towards and away from the mill but is normally located on a pivoted platform 12. The platform can be pivoted downwardly from the position shown so that the carriage 5 is located beneath floor level, and the plate 14 assumes a position flush with the floor. The sleeves 9 are fixed in relation to one another, but they may both be vertically adjusted by changing the positions of eccentrically mounted wheels 10 for the carriage.
