Abstract

127,612. Dawson, Sir A. T., and Buckham, Sir G. T. April 28, 1917. Ordnance breech mechanism.-Relates to primer-lock firing-mechanism having a lock-frame sliding transversely in a box-slide attached to the rear end of the axial vent bolt, and consists in providing the lock-frame guides partly on the boxslide and partly on the vent bolt, so that the lock-frame serves to retain the box-slide on the vent bolt. In the form shown, the axial vent bolt C and box-slide B are provided with guides C<2> on a lock-frame D, which is raised to open the lock by operating a handle D<1>, which is first ro. tated in a bracket D<x> on the lock-frame to release a hook d<1> from a recess b<1> on the box-slide and to retract the striker by the action of an extension D<3> on a projection E<3> on the pivoted hammer E.
