Abstract

111,430. Sangster, C. T. B. May 15, 1917. Addition to 107,245. Ordnance breech mechanism.-Relates to the slip-lock primer-lock mechanism described in the parent Specification, and consists in the following improvements of details, namely: (1) The firing-handle a and the striker b are cuntrolled by a single tension spring f. (2) The rotary locking- bolt i, i<2> for the breech cap c is worked by a pivoted handle i<4>, which also serves to manipulate the breech cap, and becomes locked to the cap by a lug i<5> under the influence of a spring i<6> when the bolt is in the locking position. (3) The bolt also locks the striker b by means of a flanged head j, which has a notch j<2> allowing the passage of a lug k on the striker only when the bolt is in the locking position; the firing-pin g is mounted in the hinged breech cap against a blade spring h.
