Abstract

1,273,018. Fuel injection pumps. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Oct. 2, 1969 [Oct. 3, 1968], No.48400/69. Heading F1A. In a fuel injection pump comprising a plunger 3 having an oblique control edge 21 and a cylinder barrel 2 having a spill port 23, the barrel may be rotated relative to the piston by an adjusting member 15 mounted in a radial bore 12 in the pump body 1 for initial adjustment of the delivery quantity. An eccentric pin 16 on the member engages a longitudinal groove 17 on the barrel so that rotation of the member rotates the barrel. A resilient O-ring 19 in a groove 18 in the member engages the bore 12 to prevent inadvertant rotation, and the outer end 13 of the bore is sealed by a disc 14. The delivery quantity may also be controlled by rotating the piston whilst the barrel is fixed by means of a toothed control rack 11.
