Abstract

1,254,897. Traps. K. H. HOLSCHER. 29 Jan., 1969 [5 Feb., 1968], No. 4991/69. Heading E1C. [Also in Division A4] A wash-hand basin 1 has a trap which comprises a member 4 which is formed of the same material as, and integrally with, the basin and is divided into a descending part in an extension of the basin outlet aperture 3 and a connected rising part by a partition 5; and a sleeve 6 mounted inside the outlet aperture extension and removable through it. A drain pipe 2 is connected to the outlet of the trap 4 and is formed integrally with the basin 1 and of the same material. The sleeve 6 has an external thread and screws into a rug 7, secured in an annular groove slightly below the outlet aperture 3. The sleeve 6 and ring 7 may alternatively have smooth engaging surfaces, the sleeve being retained by friction. The sleeve 6 has a flange 8 forming the outermost part of a grid plate 9 covering the sleeve aperture. A sealing ring may be placed between the flange 8 and the edge of the outlet aperture which the flange covers. Alternatively the ring 7 may seal the sleeve 6 into the outlet.
