Abstract

1,245,719. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. 4 Feb., 1970 [24 Feb., 1969], No. 5319/70. Heading H2E. An electrical connector assembly comprises at least one body part 1, formed from a strip of highly conductive metal, having a bow-shaped member 6 which may be integral with body 1 and containing at least part of a resilient bus member 60, a terminated wire (46, Fig. 4, not shown) being received between a concave face 61 of the bus member and part 6. The body part may have integral ends 3 with lances 4 used to retain said terminated wires in position. The two connectors 2 shown are connected together by the resilience of member 60 forcing hooks 22 into apertures 24 firmly. A single strip of metal may be used to form both connectors. The bus member is located in position by tongues 26 and dimples 15 and is made of highly conductive sheet metal. A rubber sleeve (38) and sealing ends (50) may cover an assembly. A single connector (Fig. 4) or an assembly of three connectors (Fig. 8) may also be formed.
