Abstract

998,943. Two-part couplings. ELCO CORPORATION. Aug. 6, 1963 [Aug. 9, 1962], No. 31021/63. Heading H2E. A sheet metal contact 12, is mounted in a resilient body 18, having a D-shaped crosssection which locates the body in a casing 50, and a flange 38 which abuts a shoulder in the casing 50 to provide a liquid-tight seal. The body 18, can be moulded round the contact 12, or the contact can be pressed into the body, in both cases the contact having a notch to engage the body 18. The contacts are arranged in the casing 50, in a pre-arranged geometrical pattern and connections are made to the contact tails 16 behind wall 74, and a potting compound is poured over these connections.
