Abstract

1,243,165. C-cramps. F. PARRAMORE & SONS (1924) Ltd. 13 Feb., 1970, No. 6975/70. Heading B4W. A quick release C-cramp has a foot portion 4 in which a screw 6 slides in a bore 7, a pawl 11 in a blind bore 9 transverse to the bore 7 releasably engaging the screw 6 and being biased by a compression spring 10. The pawl is movable by a thumb grip 14 and a stem 13 which is slidable in a slot 15 in the foot 4. A plastics plug 18 having an oil hole 19, seals the end of bore 9. Instead of the thumb grip 14 and stem 13 a cam device rotatable by a knob or lever may be used.
