Variable-speed toothed gearing.-In four-speed gearing, toothed wheels B<2>, B<3> separately clutchable to the driven shaft B by a clutch B<5> engage respectively with wheels C<2>. C<3> on an intermediate shaft C. Similarly, wheels A<3>, A<2> clutchable to the driving-shaft A engage the wheel C<2> and third wheel C<1> on the shaft C respectively. A starting-handle D may be combined with the intermediate shaft C.
