Abstract

119,536. Adams, A. C. Oct. 4, 1917. Limbs, artificial.-An appliance for attachment to artificial limbs for holding tools and other articles is adapted to be flexed to, and clamped in, any desired position. The tool-holder j is rotatable in a ring f pivoted in a fork a jointed to a stem b which can be attached to the artificial limb. The clamping is effected by a screw e, nut i, and screw k. In a modification, the pivot c is replaced by a ball-and-socket joint, and the ring f is replaced by a cup provided with ball bearings for the end of the tool-holder. The tool is held by a flat spring o which may if necessary be reinforced by a clamping-screw n.
