Abstract

102,372. Amar, J. Nov. 25, 1915, [Convention date]. Limbs, artificial. - A gripping-device for artificial hands comprises two spring-pressed jaws M, M<1> which are closed by a cam E rotated by means of a handle C; in one form this cam may be operated through a rack and pinion from a knob which is pressed against a table or other support. A toolholder T with a conical end is mounted in the central stem and has pins e for adjusting its height. Jaws D, D<1> for gripping small articles are secured to the jaws M, M'. A ball joint is provided, comprising a rubber pad n against which the ball B is pressed on screwing down the cap, which is provided with a looking-screw L.
