Abstract

1,183,713. Reservoir pens. E. S. PERRY Ltd. 14 March, 1967 [10 Feb., 1966], No. 5888/66. Heading B6P. An ink collector for a reservoir pen has a longitudinal bore 11 for receiving a feed bar therein and two or more capillary channels 10 extending radially from the bore to the external surface of the collector, each channel being defined between separate parts of the multipart construction. In the particular embodiment, the collector is formed by two like generally hollow semi-circular cylindrical parts (Figs. 3 to 5) having radially extending circumferential fins (2) spaced apart longitudinally to define transverse capillary channels (3) therebetween. The plane faces of the parts which face each other when assembled in a pen barrel are each formed with a semi-circular section channel (7) of constant radius except for a divergent funnel-like portion (8) at the writing end. Two feet (9) extend from each plane face to space the parts to form the capillary channels 10. The feet (9) may enter recesses in the opposite face. More than two capillary channels 10 may be formed by using more than two ink collector parts of appropriately less angular extent in cross-section.
