Abstract
511,521. Stylographic pens. MENTMORE MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., ANDREWS, A. E., and JOHNSON, W. F. Feb. 18, 1938, No. 5183. [Class 146 (iii)] In a stylographic pen, the tubular tip 12 and the fine tube 10 constituting the writing-element are formed integral from non-corrodible material, preferably stainless steel. The tip 12 is frictionally mounted in the bore of the enc section 4 of the barrel which may be adapted to receive a self-filling sac 8 The front end of the bore in the section is enlarged, and an aperture or apertures 14 'are formed in the point-section to afford communication between the interior of the section and the enlarged part of the bore. A feed-bar 16 of heavy construction, formed for example, of lead, carrying a feed-wire 17 and having conical ends is mounted in the point-section, capillary grooves 18 being formed in the bar and conical ends and so arranged that one groove at least communicates with an aperture 14. The bar is prevented from withdrawal from the pointsection by a flange 22, which may be provided with saw-cuts, on the section 4.
