Abstract

1,198,016. Reservoir pens. TEIKOKU HAT MFG. CO. Ltd. 21 Nov., 1968 [18 July, 1968], No. 55391/68. Heading B6P. A synthetic plastics material nib 1 for a reservoir pen has a star-shaped inner capillary ink conduit 4 axially formed throughout, a plurality of longitudinal capillary grooves 7 formed on the peripheral surface thereof and a plurality of annular grooves 8 or a helical groove formed at the rear end portion thereof. The annular grooves 8 or the helical groove have a depth sufficient to intersect the outer capillary grooves 7 and the outer portions of the inner capillary ink conduit 4. With the rear of the nib 1 embedded in a replaceable reservoir (12, Fig. 2), ink is supplied via the terminal ends of the conduit 4 and grooves 7 and is additionally supplied to the conduit and grooves via the annular grooves 8 or the helical groove (not illustrated). The thickness of each leg of the star-shaped conduit 4 measures from 0.0008 inch to 0.0016 inch.
