Abstract
1,117,972. Reservoir pens. MONTBLANCSIMPLO G.m.b.H. 4 April, 1966 [30 April, 1965], No. 14800/66. Heading B6P. In a feed-bar for a fountain pen, the air supply arrangement includes a tube 12 which fits tightly into a cylindrical bore 11 in the front portion 9 of the feed bar, and extends to the rear of the overflow chamber 17, resting in grooves (27) in the ribs of the overflow chamber (Fig. 6). Under normal writing conditions, ink is fed to the underside of the nib 10 via a curved capillary channel 20, a straight capillary channel 13 on the underside of the feed-bar, and annular stepped capillary gap 14 defined by the inside surface of the casing 2 and the surface of the front portion 9 of the feed-bar. Each section defined by the ribs of the overflow chamber communicates with the channel 13 via capillary gaps (19, 19<SP>1</SP>, Figs. 6 and 8). Air enters the pen reservoir via the non-capillary section of the channel 20, section 18, and curved groove (22, Fig. 9) from the rear of the overflow chamber.
