Abstract

1,117,834. Reservoir pens. ESTERBROOK PEN CO. 10 Jan., 1967 [11 Jan., 1966], No. 1319/67. Heading B6P. A nib or writing point member 26 extending from an ink carrier 16, preferably of felt, through a point section or nib holder 24, is formed with a star-shaped channel 60, Fig. 7, extending the whole length of the member and comprising capillary channels 62. The member 26 is tapered at both ends, the included angle at the inner end 30 being less than that at the writing end 38. The nib holder 24 is frustoconical at its point end and has part-cylindrical extensions 59, Fig. 4, fitting into the barrel 12 with air passages 56, 57 between the extensions 59. The felt ink-carrier 16 is generally cylindrical but has a flat (16a, Fig. 3) providing a longitudinally extending vent channel. A resilient synthetic plastic material is used for the parts of the pen.
