Abstract

1,173,869. Rolling. SCHLOEMANN A.G. 10 June, 1968 [15 June, 1967], No. 27431/68. Heading B3M. A roll stand which can be used as a universal stand for rolling sections or as a 2-high stand for rolling middle steel, comprises a common lower housing part 1 and interchangeable housing caps 2 or 2a. The cap 2, Fig. 1, includes cast-on stirrups 3 which house adjusting drives 4 and screws 5 for vertical rolls 6. When the cap is replaced by the cap 2a, Fig. 3, rolls 12 are accommodated in the stand and utilize the same driving spindles 8 as before.
