Abstract

1,159,111. Rolling. DAVY & UNITED ENG. CO. Ltd. 5 Oct., 1966 [11 Oct., 1965], No. 43002/65. Heading B3M. A mill for rolling sections or beams includes guides 23 which are supported by beams 18 and 20 extending between the chocks 14 of a roll 13. Each beam is dove-tailed at 22 to receive bolted guides 23. Further guides 25 are pivoted about a bar 26 extending between the chocks of the upper roll 12, and are spring- biased upwardly at their inner ends. The roll assembly, together with the beams and guides is readily replaceable. The mill can be used for rolling beams, in which case rolling guiding chocks 31 can be moved downwardly to a position adjacent the pass line.
