Abstract

1349682 Rolling NIPPON KOKAN KK 8 April 1971 9114/71 Heading B3M Buckling is prevented during severe edge rolling of a cast slab by using at least one pair of vertical rolls having recesses around their peripheries so that deformation is provided uniformly inwardly of the edges of the slab. Arrangements of the recessed rolls in combination with horizontal and vertical, cylindrical rolls are shown for continuous rolling mills (Figs. 2 and 6) and reversible rolling mills (Figs. 7 and 8).
