Abstract

1,033,942. Rolling. DAVY & UNITED ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Feb. 19, 1964 [March 1, 1963], No. 8308/63. Heading B3M. A rolling mill suitable for rolling beams, using two vertical and two horizontal rolls, or alternatively for rolling plates, using two horizontal rolls of smaller diameter, includes two housings 12, each having a window 13 provided with slots 26 and 27. The slots serve to support the forked ends 25 of vertical roll chocks 18, or, as shown to the right of the Figure, receive filler beams 36 to give full support for plate roll chocks 20 and 21. The projections 31, formed as a result of disposition of the slots, include surfaces 32 and 34 which are flush with the inner surfaces 33 and 35 of the housings.
