Abstract

1,168,642. Container closures. COTY (ENGLAND) Ltd. 13 Oct., 1967 [17 Oct., 1966], No. 46252/66. Heading B8T. A dispenser comprises a container 1 and a dispensing member 10 slidably movable axially of the container neck 2 to shut off apertures 12 in a body portion 11 from the interior of the container by engagement of a surface 14 of the body portion 11 with a surface 5 of an insert 3. Annular ridges 7 and 16 engage to keep the dispenser member in a closed position. To open the dispenser a skirt 15 is pulled up and out by means of an annular ridge 18; complete removal is stopped by engagement of annular ridges 7 and 17. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown) the dispenser member has an inner skirt (35) having an annular ridge (37) on its inner surface which engages annular ridges (26) and (27) on the outer surface of the container neck. In plan view the dispenser is generally rectangular but it may alternatively be of circular construction.
