Abstract
1,159,511. Hair driers. RAYETTEFABERGE Inc. 25 Jan., 1967 [26 July, 1966], No. 3734/67. Addition to 1,027,097. Heading A5R. A portable hair drier comprises a domeshaped hood 10 provided with hot air through a duct 11 from a fan and heater in a base 12, the duct supporting the hood when the drier is in use and the duct being hinged to both the hood and the base member such that, for traveling, the hood may be fitted to the base member so as to enclose the duct. As shown, the hood provides an air chamber between an outer casing 14 and an inner perforate sheel 15, hot air being supplied from the fan (43) and adjustable heater (45) in the base through telescopic parts 11a, 11b of the duct 11. The pivotal joint between the hood and the duct includes a hinge (20) (Figure 3, not shown) and a catch (31, 32) actuated by a button 18, while the pivotal joint between the duct and the base member 12 includes a hinge (21) (Figure 2, not shown) and a spring (26) which frictionally holds the telescopic parts 11a, 11b in adjustment. The motor (44) driving the fan (43) (Figure 4, not shown) may have a coupling (51) to provide power for hand manicuring and a grommet (52) may be provided in the air duct in the base 12 so that a tube may be fitted to the hair drier for supplying hot air for drying the nails.
