Abstract

A carrying case has, mounted inside it, a motor, fan and heater unit connected to a flexible hose. When required for use, the case is opened and a cap, for the user's head, is attached to the free end of the hose. The case 14, Fig. 2, (not shown) is of substantially cylindrical form, with a hinged lid 13 in which the flexible cap 37 is normally retained by a strap 36. A reincorced inlet 39 is attached to a connector 82 on the hose 28 when required for use, and the motor, centrally housed in the case 14, is switched on and the heat controlled by a switch 26. The motor 16 is mounted with its spindle perpendicular to a metal plate 52 attached to the base panel 14a of the central body section and a central aperture 53 allows a fan 49 to draw air past the motor and expel it through a peripheral outlet 20. Heating elements, not shown, are located adjacent this outlet, and are also carried on the metal support plate 52. The hose, which is permanently attached to the outlet 20, is housed, for storage, in the annular recess 15 surrounding the motor compartment.
