Abstract

1,159,295. Lubricants; fuels. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 11 Sept., 1967 [12 Sept., 1966], No. 40665/66. Headings C5F and C5G. A two-stroke fuel comprises gasoline, a lubricating oil and at least 5 vol per cent of iso-pentane and/or branched-chain hexanes. The fuel may also contain tetra-alkyl lead, alkaline earth metal salts of sulphonic and alkyl salicylic acids, the reaction product of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and a polyalkylene polamine e.g. stearic or iso-stearic acid and tetraethylene pentamine, alkenyl succinimides of polyalkylene polyamines, ethylene dibromide and 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene. The lubricating oil may be a mineral oil and may be mixed with the additives prior to addition to the gasoline.
