Abstract

1,266,214. Lubricants. ESSO RESEARCH & ENG. CO. 24 Oct., 1969, No. 52217/69. Heading C5F. A lubricating oil additive composition comprises a mixture of (a) a neutral hydrocarbyl phosphate and (b) a neutral alkylamine hydrocarbyl phosphate at least part of which is a monohydrocarbyl dialkylamine phosphate, each hydrocarbyl group being C 1 -C 9 . Component (a) may be tricresyl or cresyl diphenyl phosphate and (b) may be methyl di(tert-dodecylamine) phosphate. The lubricating oil may be a mineral, polyether or ester oil, e.g. trimethylol propane esterified with a mixture of C 5 -C 9 monocarboxylic acids and neopentylglycol dipelargonate. Silicones may also be present.
