1,152,660. Venetian blinds. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 31 Jan. 1968 [16 Dec., 1966], No. 56344/66. Heading E1J. The rocking member of the tilt mechanism of a Venetian blind consists of major segments 1 of a circular disc pivoted eccentrically, as for example at the centre of the disc so that the weight of the slats and tapes causes a moment to be exerted on the segment to tilt the slats, which in one direction are prevented from passing the fully open position by a stop 3, and the lifting card(s) 7 engages one or more guide members 8, 9 connected to the segment rocking member 1 and so disposed relative to the pivotal axis 2 as to apply tension to the lift cord(s) 7 to create the said moment tending to open the blind if in its closed position or to raise the blind if in the open position, when the cord is wound around the drum on the shaft 11.
