Abstract

926,422. Venetian blinds. GRIESSER A.G. Sept. 1, 1959 [Sept. 9, 1958], No. 29817/59. Class 20 (3). In a venetian blind arrangement, in which pull members 14 and support and tilting members 17 are made of rope, consisting partly of synthetic material, or wire cable, a winding shaft 5 is driven by a gear mechanism 6, operated by a hand crank which engages a drive tab 7, and comprises a drum which at one end slidably engages a square drive shank 8 and at the other engages on a screw-threaded spindle 11 fixed to a blind casing 1. When the shaft is turned to raise the blind it is axially displaced and each pull rope winds on the shaft with its turns adjacent. The support and tilt ropes 17 loop over the shaft in frictional engagement therewith and a slight rotation of the shaft alters the tilt position of the slats. Abutment members 12 on the ends of the drum, and 13 on the end and cross walls 2 and 4 of the casing limit the axial movement of the winding shaft.
