1,020,638. Toothed gearing. HERDMAN MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. July 6, 1964 [April 5, 1963], No. 13615/63. Heading F2Q. In a venetian blind, a mechanism for adjusting the inclination of the slats 7 comprises two axially-spaced pulleys 12 having secured thereto and wrapped therearound pull cords 10, the opposed adjacent faces of the pulleys 12 being formed with complementary spiral grooves which are engaged by a pinion mounted on a shaft 18 extending between the pulleys 12 and coupled to a shaft 3 to which the ends of tapes 6 carrying the slats 7 are attached. The pinion may be of nylon mounted on a forged bronze shaft 18.
