Abstract

1,143,013. Pipe couplings. NORTH THAMES GAS BOARD. 3 Aug., 1967 [18 Aug., 1966], No. 37081/66. Heading F2G. A tubular body 1 provided with an external screw-thread 4 for receiving a pipe-coupling nut has an enlarged bore 8 defining an annular shoulder 9 and contains a valve 13 supported on a stem 14 which slides in a hole in a spider 16, the valve having a perforated tubular part extending into a bore 7 and being urged by a spring 19 against a seating 10 on the shoulder; a pipe pushed into the bore 7 holds the valves off the seat to allow gas to flow through the perforations 20. The spider is secured in position by a circlip 17, and an 0-ring 22 is carried by the valve.
